Societal developments and medical advancements are continuously changing the living conditions and needs of humankind. With demographic trends, gerontology and geriatric medicine are being constantly challenged. The German Society of Gerontology and Geriatrics therefore actively supports gerontologists and geriatricians in aging research and all professionals involved in areas relevant for aging well in implementing research findings in practice.

The German Society of Gerontology and Geriatrics is an active member of the International Association of Gerontology and Geriatrics as well as its IAAG-ER subdivision.
